sir Sampleton App Reviews

Love it, but...

If youve ever had a Casio SK-1 or SK-5, youll love this. This app would be perfect if you could save the settings for each sample, name each sample, samples had envelope presets, and the interface was a bit more intuitive.

Serves no practical purpose

What am I supposed to do after I record the samples? Theres no sequencer interface where I can lay the samples down to form a song! What a waste of time and money. Is there nobody out there who has made an app for musicians who just want to beatbox/hum their ideas into a sampler, layer looped samples into verses, and make a rough song that can be exported as an MP3 to Dropbox or something?

Fun, gorgeous sounding.

Even better after this update. Downloadable sample libraries are great. Amazing tone, great flexibility. Just enough control over the tone to get what you want without making it too complicated. Highly recommended. And the stereo panning is aces.

Great sketchpad sampler!

Great simple and intuitive app that just works. Takes me back to playing with my childhood friends casio sk-1 but with all the midi bells and whistles to interface with my modern gear. A must have for your ios music toolbox!

Awesome app!

Just like the old school Casios from the 80s! Thanks for the updates too! Any possibility you could add sample manipulation functions? Like reverse-loop/detune/vibrato etc?

fun

this is really fun to play with. it would be nice if the screen orientation allowed for flipping over (it makes sense why you cant go into portrait mode though)

What happened???

Just downloaded update and the GUI is completely messed up (like its flipped sideways) on both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 running ios5.1.1!!! Please fix!!!! One of my favorite apps!

Yay!

Update: Thanks for the prompt fix. Works on 5.1 now. Woohoo! What is wrong with this? The app opens upside down, keys dont register correctly, and all the text looks squished. Completely unusable. Hope there is a fix soon. With all these glaring reviews, am I the only one experiencing this? iPhone 4S 5.1.1

minimalist beauty

This thing is very useful. Need a simple Casio-esque sampler? Look no further.

Works great

Lots o fun

Lets play Art of Noise!

Make your own Moments in Love with your VERY OWN burps and farts! Hours of fun!

Fantabulous!!!

This is a very well designed, very fun app! Record samples, play them back, beep boop pooooot!! I can spend hours making sounds and playing songs, and then my 10 month old daughter can spend another hour playing too! Downloadable sample packs, tons of settings to tweak... My favorite music app for iPad!

garbage

downloaded this for use with the akai synthstation 25 and it crashes whenever i press a key. what a waste of money.

Great App

Used it on track dig the sounds easy app, straightforward

Dead simple sampler

I love this app. It makes sampling (recording a brief snippet of sound) and playing on the keyboard quite easy. I use it for everything from recording interesting sounds I hear out, to actually making music, to messing with my dogs with it. Love this app.

Nice

Easy to use...good job

Not good

There are better samplers out there. Shop around a little, I wish I had.

The best sampler for your iPad

There is nothing better than this. Fantastic interface, fun to play, surprisingly useful!

A good app that needs.....

....to quit fishing for ratings & comments when you first open the app....when you remove this annoying feature you will get your next 2 stars. Sounds like a fair trade, you got your review after all, right?

Very Nice and a breeze!

Simple and it works well. Nothing complicated about it. Its not the bomb diggity, but it serves its purpose well. Doesnt work unless I have earphones or a speaker connected. Otherwise it sounds distorted and all weird. The Samples sound really good when taken with the app. The cost is great. Just wish I didnt need to connect a speaker to my ipod 5th generation to hear the sounds.
