"surprisingly powerful" - Wall Street Journal
used by DJ/producer Zedd! // supports Audiobus, MIDI, iOS13

Sir Sampleton is a sampling musical keyboard inspired by Casio and Yamaha samplers from the 80s. The app allows you to record sounds through the microphone and then play them on dual piano keyboards accompanied by a rhythm machine. Youll be surprised at the lush, complex musical sounds that can be created with samples of your voice, musical instruments, and other noises. Samples can be looped, customized, saved, and emailed, and we offer free samples for download on our website.

Supports Audiobus, Inter-app Audio, CoreMIDI, MIDI Mobilizer 1 and 2. Works as a virtual instrument for apps like Cubasis, Beatmaker 2, and Genome sequencer. Capable of sampling other apps and effects through Audiobus.

Sampleton applies a subtle stereo effects process to the audio giving it a fuller, warmer sound that youd typically get from sampling a monaural microphone.

Pros and cons of sir Sampleton app for iPhone and iPad

sir Sampleton app good for

This is my #1 iPhone App. It is the most fun Ive had with an iPhone App yet. I recorded my dogs name and then called him with the sampled sound. The silliness continued for the rest of the morning. Well designed and very easy to use...
Well because it doesnt try to turn people into EDM superstars by bloating the software with hot samples. This is a simple tool and it works, just as I was looking for one of those old samplers like Casio SK-1 which would cost me more I find this. Pass it through my input on an analog synth and I got instant creative accompaniment, sample a door squeak, a bird chirp or just a sneeze - the algorithm in this app turns everything into deep layered sounds. I love it, I just wish that it went a tiny notch beyond emulation of old gear and maybe throw us an arpegiator and a few effects.
This app is simple and straight to the point. It feels very similar to an old Casio Sk type keyboard. Perfect for sequencing short vocal samples.

Some bad moments

I never rated an app before because I am lazy but this really made me do it: Dont pay for this one, it is really the worst (of a lot) music apps I have installed. Really rubbish!!! I warned you! Why? - Worst usability I have seen yet! - Worst value for your money - Absolute pretentiousness in advertising = Real Rubbish!!! Sorry, developer, but try again ;-)
sir Sampleton is fantastic, so much so I gifted it to my friends. Push a button to record, then play it back at different pitches/speeds on a keyboard. Works fine with my Akai Synthstation 25. Theres built in drum beats to jam with and enough user memory spots to save a good amount of your sounds. I used to believe in Jesus, but now sir Sampleton is my personal savior. Blessed are those who have not downloaded his amazing app and yet believe!
Drives my wife crazy, but has everything needed without the expensive mpc cost.
I found out about this app when its creator, Paul Slocum, lectured at my school (bard college). Im an experimental music major there, and this app has been by far the most used and enjoyed by me, and I havent even plugged it into my computer yet. The worst thing I can say about this app is that its so fun to play with that I dont even want to do anything productive with it because its so much fun to mess around. 10 out of five stars!
Dont be fooled by the simple look, this app had a lot of love and care put into it. Sounds amazing, super fun to use.--playful interface that gets you in the mood to play.
Amazing and totally cool sampling app. Should be on everyones Top Ten app list!
